Rear-end crash during funeral procession in Clearfield County

Bloom Township, PA – A rear-end crash during a funeral procession damaged a few vehicles and sent a couple of people to the hospital with minor injuries in Clearfield County.

It happened Friday morning around 10 a.m. during a funeral procession in Bloom Township along Greenville Pike, the road that runs from Luthersburg to Curwensville.

As the line of cars came to a stop, 44-year-old Philip Hannold from Punxsutawney was unable to stop in time and struck the rear-end of a pickup truck driven by 49-year-old Shawn Simpson from Summerville.

Hannold’s vehicle was then struck by the pick-up truck behind him, driven by 22-year-old Dustin Zurenda from Punxsy.

Everyone had been wearing their seat belts.

Although the drivers were not injured, two passengers – 18-year-old Kylie Bush from Punxsutawney and 42-year-old Halona Zurenda – were taken to Penn Highlands DuBois with minor injuries.
