Rail Freight Grants Awarded to Clearfield/Elk Counties

UNDATED – Almost six million dollars has been awarded for railway reconstruction in Clearfield and Elk Counties.

$2.9 million dollars will be used to improve 28 miles of tracks in Clearfield and Elk Counties. These routes will have resurfacing and installation of new detectors along the tracks. 

$2.9 million dollars was awarded to replace around 44,000 feet of railways. These tracks in Clearfield and Cambria Counties.

All of this is possible due to the work of Senator Wayne Langerholc Jr, who also chairs the Senate Transportation Committee.

Pennsylvania currently holds the title for the most operational railroads country-wide.
