Punxsutawney, PA – For the Groundhog Day holiday in Jefferson County, State Police based in Punxsutawney made sure to hold a DUI checkpoint on Feb. 1 and 2 to ensure that drivers were being safe and sober behind the wheel.
They report that in Young Township they arrested four drivers for DUI.
They also issued 16 summary traffic citations for other offenses, and they gave 26 written warnings.

State Police also say they cited a 31-year-old Big Run man for public drunkenness when he was found after falling into a snowbank in Henderson Township, wearing just a t-shirt in below freezing temperatures.
