PUNXSUTAWNEY – A 31-year-old Jefferson County woman is facing various criminal charges, including assault and resisting arrest, after she tried to fight two police officers last week.
According to court documents, Christine Rand is facing a total of four felony counts, six misdemeanors, and two summary charges.
Punxsutawney Police say that Rand was walking down the middle of a Punxsutawney road late Wednesday night.
Rand allegedly tried to run from police as she was being arrested, and then was verbally and physically combative with two officers as she was taken to the police station for processing.
Following her arraignment, Rand was sent to the Jefferson County Jail to await a preliminary hearing.
Her bail is set at $10,000.
