PUNXSUTAWNEY – Friday is Groundhog Day, and tens of thousands of people will be converging on Punxsutawney.
The President of Punxsutawney’s Chamber of Commerce, Katie Laska, expects at least 20,000 people to be at Gobbler’s Knob on Friday morning for Phil’s forecast.
Laska says Punxsy’s business community is looking forward to welcoming a lot of visitors to town on Friday and through the weekend. “We work for Phil,” noted Laska. “He’s our celebrity, and we love him. So we want him to be the showcase of what we have here.”
