PUNXSUTAWNEY – Sunny, and Shadow – those are the names given to Punxsutawney Phil and Phyllis’ baby groundhogs.
Members of the Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club announced the choice of names during a special Mother’s Day ceremony.
Hundreds of ideas for names were submitted by Tri-County area residents, but according to Groundhog Club President Thomas Dunkel, Phil made the final choice.
Sunny is the name for the female pup, and the name Shadow was given to Phil and Phyllis’ male baby.
