BROOKVILLE — A 20-year-old Punxsutawney man will be facing murder charges after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend on Thursday morning.

According to Jefferson County Court documents, Dakota Greeley shot and killed Trisha Cole, and then he reportedly ran over her body with his truck.

State Police say they received a call from one of Greeley’s family members with a claim that Dakota had shot Trisha, and that he wanted to commit “suicide by police.”

When troopers arrived at the scene, Greeley reportedly fired two shots from a long rifle, and police returned fire.

Greeley tried to get away in his truck, but quickly crashed into a wooded area off of Dickey Road in Clover Township.

Troopers say they took Greeley into custody and was taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for medical attention.

Greeley allegedly admitted to police when he was interviewed that he shot Cole.
