BROOKVILLE — A 20-year-old Punxsutawney man is facing charges of murder, homicide, and terroristic threats after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend on Thursday morning.

According to Jefferson County Court documents, Dakota Greeley is accused of shooting and killing Trisha Cole, and then he reportedly ran over her body with his truck.

State Police say they were called to the scene in Clover Township by one of Greeley’s family members who claimed that Dakota shot Trisha, and that he wanted to provoke a deadly response by police which is referred to as “suicide by cop.”

When troopers arrived at the scene, Greeley reportedly fired two shots from a long rifle, and police returned fire.

Greeley tried to drive away in a pickup, but quickly crashed into a wooded area off of Dickey Road.

Troopers say they took Greeley into custody following a brief foot chase, and he was taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for medical attention.

When Greeley was interviewed by police, he allegedly admitted that he shot Cole.

Greeley has been denied bail, and he is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
