PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney man is in jail after police say he stole a child’s bicycle earlier in the week.
On Tuesday police say that 21 year-old David Larson III allegedly went to a female’s house asking if she knew whose bike was in the neighbors yard. After telling him that she did not, the woman told a neighbor about the incident, where they noticed the bike was then missing.
Later a parent realized they had video surveillance of the area, which allegedly showed Larson taking the bike.
It was later discovered the bike belonged to a friend of a child who lived there.
Police found Larson in an apartment building not far from the alleged theft.
He was taken into custody and now faces two misdemeanor charges.
Larson is currently in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting a September 5th preliminary hearing.
