PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend last Saturday.
On March 22nd at around 12:50am police responded to a West Mahoning Street address after receiving reports of a woman being attacked.
Once on scene police learned that 22 year-old Bryce Mickins was upset with his girlfriend for not letting him drive home from a concert while drunk. They say that Mickins allegedly pushed the victim causing her to fall. He then allegedly began to choke her.
A witness then intervened, however police say this did not deter Mickins from going after the victim.
Mickins was placed into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he faces felony aggravated assault and strangulation charges.
