Punxsutawney Area High School Co-Principal resigns a week before dismissal hearing

PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney Area High School Co-Principal has resigned after being arrested three times in four months.

Paul Hetrick announced in a public statement yesterday that he was resigning effective today.

In his statement, Hetrick said that it has been “extremely difficult” to cope during his divorce, and he has “acted inconsistent with [his] values.”

Hetrick’s resignation comes a week ahead of his dismissal hearing in front of the Punxsutawney School Board.

The school board initiated the dismissal process after Hetrick was arrested three times in four months for breaking the terms of a PFA order and for a DUI.
