PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney man is facing burglary charges after allegedly breaking into a residence looking for his cat.

On October 5th police received reports of a break-in at a Orveta Street home. A witness told police that he heard loud pounding and screaming from inside the residence.

The witness then left their bedroom and discovered two men inside the building. One of the men, 22 year-old Bryce Mickins, reportedly began yelling at the witness claiming they had stolen his cat.

After being told to leave Mickins allegedly put the witness into a headlock, with the second man trying to de-escalate the situation.

The friend told police that both men became physical after arguing about his cat.

Mickins told police that he went to the residence with the intent to get his cat back. He also said that he knocked on the door and then took a few steps into the building in an attempt to speak to the resident about getting his cat back.

Mickins then told police that the man grabbed him by the throat as the altercation began.

He is now facing felony burglary charges.
