Primary Election: The Races

UNDATED – Today is the 2025 Primary Election in Pennsylvania. We break down the local races that matter to you.

In Clearfield County, the Judge of the Court of Common Pleas will have four candidates on both republican and democrat ballots. Josh Mains, Adrianne M. Peters Sipes, Ryan P. Sayers, and William A. Shaw.

11 candidates will appear on the Republican ballot for the new City of DuBois Council. Devon Duane Vallies, Richard A. Whitaker, Samuel J. Mollica III, Barry Abbot Sr. Shirley M. Dahrouge, David Alan Volpe, Mark T Sullivan, Randy A. Beers Jr., Blane David Clark, and Duane Patrick Reasinger.

The top seven will make it to the General Election ballot in November.

The Democratic Ballot will only have two names: Melissa G. Keen, and Michael J. Piccirillo.

Write-in candidates can be on either ballot but must have at least 100 votes.

Moshannon Valley Area School District At Large will have you choose four between Sara Katherine Vacher, Robert Ferguson, Elsie Harchak, Stacey Warrick Williams, and Rachel Ann Perea.

Purchase Line Area School District will have you choose no more than four for School Director between Elaine Little, Quentin T Brooks, Michael Moyer, David Small, and Scott GearHart.

Clearfield Area School District will have you choose between Shawna Coudriet Rothrock, Kathryn K Wood, Tammy L Young, and Brittany Marie Madera.

In Curwensville, you can vote for Borough Council between Todd D Bracken and Ryan Stanley Schall. For School Director Linda Shaffer, Aaron James Prisk, Jared Ryan Wolfe, Jennifer M. Tubbs, Doreen R. Hoover, Amy Marie Finn, and Nick Kolesar are competing. 

In Jefferson County, the county Coroner will have three candidates: James E. O’Bryon, Todd Peace, and Greg Furlong.

Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts has five on the ballot: Angel D. Smith, Taylor Dezelan, Kayla Kromer, Robert Toby Santik, and Linda J. Snyder.

County Treasurer has Tonya S. Geist competing against Renee A. Stiver.

Jeff Burkett is the only candidate for District Attorney.

Brookville Council has seven individuals on the ballot. You can select four between David C. Smail, Karen L. Allgeier, Arthur C. McKinley, Jim Dunn, David L. Taylor, Lorna Carlton Ondraski, and Sarah Gallagher.

Brookville School Board will also have you choose four between Justin R. Ransel, Christopher Rhodes, Frank E. Bartley, Luc Doolittle, Christa Park, and Erin J. Schiafone.

Reynoldsville Mayor has Mark T. August against Michael D. Popson Stub for Republicans.

In Elk County, you can vote for Mayor and City Council for St Marys. Mayor will have Lyle H. Garner against Tim Pearson. Council will have you select three from Michael P. Groll, Kelli Hall, J. Clark Lecker, Bill Laird, and Alex Wendel.

St Marys will also have races school board races including Stephanie McAnany, Cly Hornung and Anne Herzing for Region I. Timothy H. Frey And Terry L. Straub will compete for Region II. And Chrissy Keebler and Christopher Earle are running for Region III. 

In Ridgway, Megen R. Handley, Aimee Kemick, Natalie Aiello, Jamie Cobaugh, and Matthew Frank are running for School Director. 

Republicans and Democrats only can take to the polls between 7am and 8pm Tuesday. We will be live on ConnectFM after the Pirates game as results come in.
