DUBOIS – This weekend, you can watch “Pride and Prejudice” at the Reitz Theater in DuBois.
“Pride and Prejudice” follows Elizabeth Bennet, a smart and sharp-tongued young woman and her complicated relationship with the misunderstood and reserved Mr. Darcy, as the story unfolds, both characters are forced to confront their flaws and grow beyond them.
Director Shannon Gibson told us that this adaptation takes multiple inspirations of the classic tale.
“This particular one is actually based off of both the book and then the 1995 TV show,” explained Gibson. “So it has some extra scenes that are in the show. It has a lot more stuff that’s in the book. They just kind of combine the two to make it a little more comedic and a little more fun to watch.”
Showtimes begin this Friday at 7pm. Additional performances will be held on the 14th, and 15th at 7pm and 2pm respectively. The following week, the production continues on the 19th, 20th, and 21st at 7pm.
