BROCKWAY – The Brockway School District has performed a preliminary study into the effect cell phones have in learning.
A preliminary study done by surveys circulated to teachers showed that teachers rarely use them for academic purposes and disruption rates related to cell phone use has been noted at around 77 percent.
Teachers agreed that overall cell phones benefits are outweighed by their negatives.
While this is a preliminary look, a full report with possible actions will appear at the district’s November meeting.
