ST. MARYS – Plans for a renovated playground in Elk County were unveiled this week.
At the St. Marys City Council meeting, an update was provided on the future Playland at the city’s Memorial Park. Demolition of the former Playland is now complete. The Director of Parks and Recreation for St. Marys said the new Playland will be a unique, all-inclusive, and accessible playground that assists in the development of social and emotional skills, creative thinking, balance, core, and lower body strength.
The goal is to have the new Playland built and installed by August at a total cost of $720,000. Most of the money has already been secured by grant funding.
