Planning DuBois’ Future

DUBOIS – City of DuBois leaders are looking ahead at possible building and facility upgrades as part of their 2027 strategic planning.

A preliminary audit found that most city facilities are in solid shape overall, but some need attention.

“The water treatment plant, the maintenance garage and the water garage do have the most needs at this time,” explained a Siemens representative.

Upgrades at those facilities could include heating and cooling systems, LED lighting, improved security, and even solar energy projects. They could also benefit from centralized digital controls to better manage operations.

Fire stations may need HVAC upgrades, lighting improvements, and structural repairs. City parks and ball fields could see EV charging stations, updated lighting, improved security, and repairs to pavilions or bathrooms.

City management says that this review is part of a bigger strategy to prioritize what gets fixed first and how to pay for it responsibly without burdening taxpayers.
