Pittsburgh police officer accused of DUI crash

Pittsburgh, PA – In Pittsburgh, a police officer is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident, injuring a television station employee.

Officer Tariq Jamal-Francis is being charged with DUI, reckless driving, and child endangerment for the crash that happened on Nov. 12 near the officer’s home in Pittsburgh.

Jamal-Francis reportedly had his 17-year-old son in the vehicle with him when he rear-ended another vehicle, then kept driving.

The unnamed victim is an employee of WXPI, a Pittsburgh-area station that is now trying to determine why the officer was put on administrative leave but never taken into custody for the crime.
