BROOKVILLE — The Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit of Jefferson County serves the local community by assisting other agencies in locating lost or missing persons.
The Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit is the Priority First Federal Credit Union Community Spotlight Cares Advertising Grant recipient for the month of May.
The Unit works closely with local police and fire departments, the State Police, and other search and rescue groups.
The Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit currently consists of 17 K-9 members and seven social members.
As a non-profit organization it’s necessary for the unit to conduct several fundraising events each year, including the PAW-ghetti dinner which is coming up on May 27th in Brookville.
The unit is also working towards obtaining a command unit or emergency vehicle to help them better serve the community.
