Pigs found injured and in poor living conditions in Jefferson County

Winslow Township, PA – Pigs were found injured and in poor living conditions in Jefferson County, and now an animal cruelty investigation is underway.

State Police were called for an animal welfare check at a location on Route 310 in Winslow Township on Nov. 8.

They found three pigs living in “undesirable living conditions”.

One of the pigs had life-threatening injuries, and unfortunately that pig died due to its injuries despite being treated.

The other two pigs were treated successfully.

Another two pigs were found to have died prior to the welfare check.

The owner was located, but police do not give their identity.

Charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
