CLEARFIELD – A 25-year-old Philipsburg man who is facing felony counts of aggravated assault and child endangerment has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
According to court documents, the case of Dontae Thomas will go to trial in Clearfield County Court. State Police say Thomas is accused of causing injuries to his girlfriend’s one-year-old child. A doctor at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh told police that multiple bruises on the child indicate abuse, and that the child’s head injuries were “near-fatal.”
Thomas is being held in the Clearfield County Jail with bail set at $150,000.
