CLEARFIELD – A 25-year-old Philipsburg man who is facing felony counts of aggravated assault and child endangerment made a court appearance this week.
According to court documents, Dontae Thomas waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
State Police say Thomas is accused of causing injuries to his girlfriend’s one-year-old child.
A doctor at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh told police that multiple bruises on the child indicate abuse, and that the child’s head injuries were “near-fatal.”
Thomas awaits trial in the Clearfield County Jail with his bail set at $150,000.
