PHILIPSBURG – A Philipsburg man is facing theft charges after allegedly stealing over $8,000 dollars worth of items from a Chester Hill apartment.
According to police, in August of 2025, 45 year-old Raymond Castro III was living at the apartment while it was being remodeled. Castro then allegedly used a U-Haul truck to load around $8,000 dollars worth of items from the renovation.
An unidentified woman with Castro allegedly rented the truck with a fake credit card and did not return the vehicle.
Later, police received a report that Castro and the woman were renting an apartment in Philipsburg and used flooring in their possession to lower the security deposit.
Now, Castro has been charged with felony theft by unlawful taking. He is currently at the Clearfield County Jail.
