DECATUR TWP. – A Philipsburg couple is facing child endangerment charges after spinning their vehicle into a ditch and leaving their young child unattended.
According to State Police, 28-year-old Jennifer Smith and 31-year-old Ryan Smith of Philipsburg were traveling at a high rate of speed along Old Erie Pike Road in Decatur Township when law enforcement began following them early Sunday morning.
The vehicle then reportedly spun 180 degrees into a ditch.
Both Smiths allegedly fled the vehicle on foot leaving a 5-year-old child unattended.
Police say the vehicle was seized for a search warrant, and charges are still pending.
