PennDOT pleased with road and bridge project progress in Clearfield and Elk counties

CLEARFIELD – Non-emergency road and bridge repair projects in the Tri-County area have wrapped up for the winter season, but PennDOT officials are pleased with what was accomplished during the 2023 construction season. District 2 Executive Tom Prestash gave a progress report on projects in Clearfield and Elk counties.

In Clearfield County, a bridge replacement project on Route 410 in Brady Township was completed, as were highway restoration projects along Route 255 in Huston Township and Route 879 in Girard, Covington, and Karthaus townships.

Prestash noted a couple of projects that will be ongoing in the new year. In Elk County, PennDOT will continue the bridge restoration project on Route 153 in Horton Township. In Clearfield County, the “Golden Rod Bridge” project on Route 322 in Lawrence Township will continue.

Across PennDOT’s District 2, which includes a total of nine counties, approximately 77 roadway miles were paved, and 47 bridges were rehabilitated, repaired, or replaced during the 2023 season.
