CLEARFIELD – Four PennDOT districts were represented at a special event in Clearfield Monday.
The PennDOT officials gathered to discuss winter preparations and also to present information on how the Regional Transportation Management Center assists with situational awareness for drivers on state roads in 26 Western and Central Pennsylvania counties.
Some of the services provided by the center include 24/7 monitoring and posting of road and bridge restrictions and closures, managing traffic-related and weather-related incidents, and oversight of traffic cameras and message boards.
You can check on the area’s road conditions anytime by visiting 511PA.com.
It was also reported Monday that PennDOT has more than $212 million budgeted for operations this winter, and more than 636,000 tons of salt is on hand to treat roads across the state.
