CLEARFIELD – If you drive on Routes 219, 879 or 453, or 53 in Clearfield County, you may encounter some tree trimming and tree removal work in the next few months.
PennDOT says the project started this week on Route 453 in Knox Township.
Additional work will take place on Route 219 in Bell and Greenwood townships, Route 879 in Goshen and Lawrence townships, and Route 53 in Cooper Township.
Flagging crews will be enforcing alternating traffic patterns through the work areas.
PennDOT says the tree trimming and tree removal work is done in order to provide “daylighting” to the roadway, allowing sunlight to speed snow and ice melt during the winter months.
It also enhances sight distance and lessens the potential for old and dead trees to fall onto the roadways.
