Starting July 8th, PennDOT kicks off a major project on Interstate 80 in Clearfield County. Spanning from mile markers 97 to 120, this $47.7 million initiative aims to enhance nearly 24 miles of roadway and six bridges. Initially, the left lane on I-80 westbound, between markers 118 and 116, will close for shoulder rumble strip removal. Concurrently, Route 153 near the Clearfield-Penfield interchange will reduce to single lanes for guide rail and median curb removal. Scheduled until late August, this phase precedes extensive work including paving, bridge upgrades, and installation of intelligent transportation systems. HRI, Inc. oversees operations, targeting project completion by November 2025, contingent on weather. Stay informed via 511PA for real-time updates and road conditions.
