Reynoldsville, PA – A parent recorded a phone conversation from a school, leading to an investigation into harassment and wire tap violations.
On Wednesday, a secretary at Jeff Tech had contacted a student’s parent in reference to COVID-19.
The parent reportedly recorded this conversation and posted it to Facebook.
The issue is that Pennsylvania is a two-party consent state when it comes to recording phone conversations. That means that everyone on the phone line has to be aware that a recording is taking place and must agree to being recorded.
The investigation is ongoing.
If you are recording a private conversation, be aware of the laws, which vary state by state.
