PA Budget Passes Deadline

UNDATED – The initial deadline for Pennsylvania’s next budget passed at the end of June with no agreement made.

The budget proposes a nine percent increase in spending, translating to around a $3.8 billion dollar increase.

To help mitigate the amount of spending, the budget sees additional income from skill games and the legalization and taxation of marijuana.

While lawmakers are still in debate over the budget, our local Representative, Mike Armanini has some stipulations before the budget gets his vote.

“I just want to make sure that my clubs and organizations are not included,“ explained Armanini. “That is how you get a yes vote out of MIke Armanini on the budget, to make sure that they are excluded.”

The current budget still sits in a deadlock as Governor Shapiro says he believes a deal will be reached “very soon”.
