SANDY TOWNSHIP/DUBOIS – Over $3.5 million dollars has been awarded to four area projects from State Funds.
One million dollars was given to Christ the King Wellness Center in DuBois to help build independent living cottages.
Another million dollars was given to DuBois Central Catholic for a multi-purpose complex.
$600,000 dollars was given to the DuBois Salvation Army for kitchen renovations.
$737,500 dollars was also awarded to Sandy Township to extend sewer lines, an effort that Township Supervisor Sam Mollica says will help build infrastructure in the township.
“You have sewage there,“ explained Mollica. “That’s one of the requirements to be able to attract industry, so it’s a big win for us.”
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants were made possible from the efforts of State Senator Wayne Langerholc and State Representative Mike Armanini.
