MORRISDALE – A Morrisdale man is facing over 160 charges after allegedly secretly recording a juvenile changing multiple times.
According to State Police, in May a juvenile contacted authorities stating that she found a cell phone hidden in stuffed animals as she was trying on a piece of clothing.
She also told officers that she discovered another phone but left it undisturbed.
After obtaining a search warrant police searched 35 year-old Timothy Smeal’s home collecting 17 electronic devices. Police then allegedly found 49 pictures of the female, with 20 of them being inappropriate. Police also found ten videos on the electronic devices.
He is now in the Clearfield County Jail where he is facing 23 counts of felony child pornography, nine counts of criminal attempt child pornography, 112 counts of misdemeanor design/copy of obscene material depicting a minor, and 20 counts of invasion of privacy.
