Osceola Mills woman loses $700 to dog sale scam

Osceola Mills, PA – A Clearfield County woman was scammed out of $700 when she tried to purchase a dog via the internet.

State Police in Clearfield say the 58-year-old Osceola Mills woman paid $700 on May 13 for a silver Labrador Retriever dog from a supposed seller in North Carolina over the internet.

She never received the dog.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police encourage you to use caution when purchasing things online, especially if you do not know the seller or have not seen the product in person. Animal adoption scams are very common. If you do choose to make a purchase online, be careful about sending money to the seller before actually receiving the item.
