Fox Township, PA – A dog-related scam is making the rounds in our area, so be careful of any puppies you see for sale online.
A 39-year-old Kersey woman responded for a dog for sale ad, originally posted in Florida, on Sept. 18.
She sent money via Paypal for the dog, though police don’t say how much money she sent.
The woman was told the dog was being shipped, but then she was sent another message that the dog had been struck at the airport and would need more money to help.
After that call, the victim realized it was a scam and reported it to police.
The investigation continues.
These dog sale scams continue to happen throughout the United States. If you are considering getting a new pet, you should know the person who you are getting the animal from.
