One killed in Interstate 80 crash

WOODLAND – A collision in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near Woodland Friday night claimed the life of a 26-year-old man who was a passenger in a car.

According to State Police, a tractor-trailer jackknifed across both westbound lanes at mile marker 123 due to the sleet-covered condition of the roadway. An SUV driven by 23-year-old Ko Reh smashed into the rear end of the tractor-trailer. The passenger in Reh’s vehicle, Khagendra Poudel, suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports from police did not include the hometown of Poudel or Reh.
