PUNXSUTAWNEY — No one was hurt when a fire broke out at a Jefferson County restaurant Monday night.

According to the county’s emergency dispatch, the blaze was reported at Smokin’ Pete’s BBQ along Route 119 near Punxsutawney shortly after 7 p.m.

Firefighters reportedly had the flames under control within an hour, but Punxsy Fire Chief Chris Smith said the restaurant side of the building is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Smith said they suspect it is electrical.
