DUBOIS – We continue to spotlight the newly-elected municipal officials in DuBois and Sandy Township. Today, we tell you more about one of the newest DuBois City Council members, Jennifer Jackson.
According to Jackson, she is determined to see change, and wants to move forward with the support of the community.
Jackson plans on getting the City of DuBois back on track by evaluating policies and procedures ahead of consolidation with Sandy Township. “Change is inevitable, but we have to,” says Jackson.
Jackson said her goal is to restore the community’s trust, and assure residents that the new DuBois-Sandy municipality will be sustainable. Jackson exclaims that we need to “move forward and be one community.”
With experience in owning a local business, Brady Street Florist, she is passionate about the people in DuBois and Sandy Township. “A lot of those people are customers, and those customers have become my friends. I feel that I owe it to them to step forward in this period of uncertainty,” says Jackson.
Jackson stays involved by being active with the community. She served as a Jaycees member, President of the DuBois Rotary, and is a member of the DuBois Chamber of Commerce.
Jackson was born and raised in the DuBois area where she has been owner of Brady Street Florist for the past 28 years.
