DUBOIS – Two New York City men are facing charges after leading police on a high-speed chase off of Interstate 80 and into DuBois, and then more than $30,000-worth of stolen merchandise was found in their car.

State Police report that 27-year-old Anton Pye of Brooklyn, and 23-year-old Angel Vargas of the Bronx led them on a pursuit of speeds as high as 130 miles per hour between I-80’s mile markers 90 and 97 earlier this week.

The vehicle exited the interstate onto Route 219, then travelled onto Slab Run Road and Tannery Row Road before it became disabled in a ditch.

Pye and Vargas then fled the scene on foot, but police eventually caught them about 30 minutes later.

State Police Troopers were assisted by Sandy Township and City of DuBois Police.

Stolen Apple products and luxury clothing items valued at more than $30,000 were reportedly found in the vehicle.
