BROOKVILLE – According to a new study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Elk County is considered mildly dangerous in Pennsylvania when ranked by motor vehicle fatalities.
There were only 3.23 motor vehicle crash fatalities per 100,000 residents in Elk County in 2020, the latest data available.
That makes Elk County the 3rd least dangerous county.
Coming in at number 42 out of 67 counties in the state is Jefferson County, considered moderately dangerous with 13.49 motor vehicle crash fatalities per 100,000 residents.
Clearfield County is number 58 on the list with 19.86 fatalities per 100,000.
