Murder Suspect Caught in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY – A California man, suspected of murder, was caught in Jefferson County last week.

Just after midnight on December 11th, police were at the scene of a crash on I-80 near mile marker 68.4 in the eastbound lane when officers noticed a white Honda Pilot with a California registration wanted out of California pass by.

Officers attempted a traffic stop at which point the vehicle fled for around seven miles before pulling over.

Officers identified the driver as 45 year-old Zheer Malassab, who was wanted out of Vallejo California for allegedly shooting and killing his wife.

He is now in custody awaiting extradition to California.
