Morrisdale man has warrant out for his arrest after cruelty to animals charge

CLEARFIELD – Depriving a dog of veterinary care for nearly a month has a Morrisdale man in trouble with the law.

According to the Clearfield County Humane Officer, 60-year-old Darrell Kent is charged with cruelty to animals.

Kent’s pitbull, Luna, reportedly had more than 75 quills embedded in her face after an encounter with a porcupine.

Kent failed to seek veterinary help for 27 days, and he allegedly used rags soaked in diesel fuel to wrap around the dog’s face.

The County Humane officer took custody of Luna so she could receive proper care and time to recover.

Kent failed to show up for a preliminary hearing Wednesday, so a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
