UNDATED – The Pennsylvania House has passed a bill that, if approved, would begin the process of increasing the state’s minimum wage.
The proposed bill would increase minimum wage in Allegheny and Philadelphia Counties to $15 dollars an hour and $12 dollars an hour everywhere else.
Now, the bill will proceed to the Senate before possibly being implemented over a three year period.
This would be the first increase in minimum wage in Pennsylvania since 2009.
