CLEARFIELD – One of the Memorial Day escapees from the Clearfield County Jail had two court appearances this week.
County Judge Paul Cherry ruled on Wednesday and Thursday that 46-year-old Donald White of Brockway will now face multiple charges related to his escape, and a prior plea agreement which gave him only a four-month prison sentence has been withdrawn.
Charges against White now include escape, fleeing or attempting to elude police, theft, reckless endangerment, kidnapping, strangulation and numerous summary offenses related to a high-speed, seven-mile chase in Clearfield and Elk Counties on June 17th.
White and Robert Miller Jr. escaped from the Clearfield County Jail when they fled from a grass-cutting work detail.
Both men were recaptured in June.
