Man seriously injured in I-90 crash near Clarion

Clarion, PA – A vehicle struck a tractor-trailer in a construction zone on Interstate 80 near Clarion, seriously injuring the driver of the vehicle. Many occupants of that vehicle were also not properly wearing their seat belts or in car seats.

State Police in Clarion say it happened on I-80 westbound exit 64 on-ramp around 1:30 p.m. on June 12.

The driver of the GMC Terrain SUV, 18-year-old Isaiah Hayden from Tarentum, was attempting to pull onto I-80 from the on-ramp into the one lane of a construction zone.

His vehicle ended up striking the side of a tractor-trailer, about halfway down the side, driven by 45-year-old Robert Rollman from Ohio.

Hayden, the driver of the GMC, had been wearing his seat belt but suffered serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Clarion Hospital.

Some of his passengers had not been wearing their seat belts or weren’t in car seats, but thankfully they were all uninjured.
