Rose Township, PA – A Jefferson County man lost $300 after sending sensitive photos to someone who turned out to be a scam artist.
The unnamed man reported the scam to State Police in Punxsutawney on March 4.
Police say the man said he had sent explicit photos to an unknown individual, who then demanded the man send $300, then shortly later said to send $1,000 or they would send the explicit images to the man’s grandchildren on Facebook messenger.
The victim complied to sending $300 but reported the incident after $1,000 was demanded.
The investigation is ongoing.
