Man Blames Divine Intervention for Alleged Auto Theft

CLEARFIELD – A DuBois man is facing charges after allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle from a hotel parking lot earlier in the month.

On March 14th, police were called to the Red Roof Inn in Clearfield for reports of a vehicle break-in.

Once on scene police learned that 34 year-old Christopher Mayhew had allegedly gotten into someone’s vehicle. When asked to leave he allegedly told the victim that he wasn’t thinking clearly and god wanted him to do it.

He was placed under arrest for the alleged break-in and on multiple warrants. He is currently at the Clearfield County Jail.
