Man behind bars after alleged assault and abuse

Punxsutawney PA –

A Punxsutawney man is behind bars this morning after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend’s son and abusing a three-month old puppy.

According to the report a woman called police telling them that 54-year old Joseph Huntington, her boyfriend, was assaulting her son at home.

Once police arrived they found Huntington on the porch with two juveniles in the residence.

Huntington told police he was watching his girlfriend’s 20-year old son, who has special needs. Huntington tried to take the phone from the 20-year old victim, but he refused.

According to the victim, Huntington got angry when the victim refused to hand over his phone and Huntington allegedly took the victim’s three-month old puppy from the victim’s arms and slammed the puppy to the ground.

According to the report Huntington then attacked the victim. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail on $40,000 bail.
