BARNETT TOWNSHIP – A man is now facing charges after allegedly breaking into cabins at the Cook Forest State Park and setting a lawnmower on fire in 2023.
On August 19th 2023, crews were dispatched to a set of cabins in the Cook Forest State Park for reports of a lawnmower on fire. The blaze was allegedly connected to a string of break-ins in nearby cabins.
In the cabins police found signs of a break-in and a black Steelers hat on a couch, which was sent in for DNA testing.
Results showed that the cap belonged to 31 year-old Ty Cressman, who was arrested that night by DCNR Rangers with the alleged items on his person and keys for the cabins.
Last week, he was officially charged with burglary and arson felony charges.
