PUNXSUTAWNEY – The Make-A-Wish “Light Up a Child’s Life” campaign finished their campaign in Punxsutawney last week, raising a total of $85,002.36 dollars.
With each wish costing around $5,000 dollars, the Punxsutawney area was able to grant 17 wishes for children in need.
We heard from Lacy Bair, regional manager for Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, who told us what the past week in Punxsutawney held for Make-A-Wish.
“We were at Punxsy Pizza, we were at Laska’s Pizza, we were at all of our schools, and then Friday we ended at Hometown Markets,“ explained Bair. “Everything went fabulous, we had lot of traffic and we ended the week at a little over $85,000 dollars.”
Make-A-Wish’s goal is to grant life-changing wishes to children between the ages of 2.5 and 18 who are facing chronic illnesses.
