HARRISBURG – Thirteen students received scholarships at the Pennsylvania Farm Show last week, and one of them is from Jefferson County.
Tayler Rafferty of Brookville was recognized for her leadership and achievements with horse and livestock clubs through Jefferson County 4-H.
Tayler is currently a freshman at Penn State DuBois, and she is majoring in Agricultural and Extension Education and Wildlife Technology.
Her plan for the future is to become a high school agriculture education teacher.
The scholarship awarded to Tayler is a total of $6,000 to help absorb the costs of her ongoing education.
The Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to nearly 400 students since 1993.
